Terms of service
Goose Coach · effective 17 October 2026
- Your data is yours. We don't own what you put into Goose. You let us store and process it only so the app works for you, and you can download or delete it at any time.
- Goose is ours. You can use the app, but you can't copy it, clone it, resell it or build your own version of it.
- Use it legally. Don't use Goose to break the law, hurt anyone or attack the service.
- Goose is not a doctor. Its numbers are estimates to help you train, not medical advice.
- Goose will change. We add, change and remove features whenever we decide to. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first.
Who we are and what this covers
Goose (“Goose Coach” on the App Store) is made and run by Alexander Carnes (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Goose apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, the web app and website at goosecoach.app, the Goose Face watch face and the server behind them (together, “Goose”). The privacy policy explains what we store and why, and is part of these terms.
By creating an account or using Goose, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Goose.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 to use Goose.
- Use a real email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Don't share, sell or transfer it.
- If you think someone else has got into your account, email hello@goosecoach.app straight away.
Your data is yours
You own everything you put into Goose: workouts, notes, health and sleep data, profile details, and anything Goose imports from your watch, files or connected services. We don't own it and don't claim to.
So that Goose can work, you give us permission to store, copy, process and display that data, only to run Goose for you: showing it to you, working out your training numbers, syncing it between your devices and backing it up. That permission ends when you delete the data or your account; backup copies drop out within 14 days, as the privacy policy explains.
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models. You can download all of it as one file, or delete it, at any time from your profile.
Only upload data you have the right to use. Don't upload someone else's health data without their permission.
Goose is ours
Goose itself belongs to Alexander Carnes: its code, design, look and feel, exercise library, workout parser, formulas, text, the name “Goose”, the goose character and the logos. They're protected by copyright, trademark and other laws, and using Goose doesn't give you ownership of any of them.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Goose for your own training, for as long as you follow these terms. You may not:
- copy, reproduce, modify or redistribute Goose or any part of it;
- clone it, or use it to build a competing app or service;
- decompile, reverse engineer or try to extract its source code, except where the law gives you a right to that can't be taken away;
- resell, rent or sublicense Goose, or offer it to other people as a service;
- scrape Goose or access it with bots or scripts, other than through features we provide, such as the data download;
- remove or hide copyright, trademark or other notices;
- use the Goose name, character or logos without our written permission.
Use it legally
Don't use Goose to do anything illegal, or to help anyone else do it. In particular, don't:
- break any law, or anyone else's rights, including their privacy and intellectual property;
- upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share;
- harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- pretend to be someone else, or sign up with someone else's details;
- hack, attack, overload or disrupt Goose, or get around its security, limits or payments (if you find a security problem, email us instead and we'll fix it);
- upload viruses or other malicious code;
- break the terms of a service you connect to Goose, such as Garmin or Strava.
Goose is not medical advice
Goose shows estimates: training load, Freshness, readiness, recovery, muscle fatigue, calories and the like. They're worked out from your data with formulas that can be wrong, and the readings from your watch can be wrong too. They're there to help you understand your training, not to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
Goose is not a medical device and doesn't replace a doctor, physiotherapist or coach. Talk to a doctor before starting a new training program, especially if you have a health condition, and stop if something hurts. You decide how hard to train, and you train at your own risk.
Goose Pro and payment
- Goose is a paid subscription, Goose Pro, billed monthly or yearly. There is no free plan. Current prices and what Goose Pro includes are on the pricing page and in the app.
- Goose Pro starts with a free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you're charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time: from your profile if you subscribed on the web, or in your Apple Account's subscription settings if you subscribed through the App Store. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. After that you can still sign in to download or delete your data.
- Stripe handles web payments and Apple handles App Store payments, each under its own terms. We never see your full card number.
- Payments for a period you've started aren't refunded, except where these terms or the law say otherwise. App Store refunds are handled by Apple. This doesn't affect rights you have under the law where you live, such as the 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase in the EU and UK.
- We can change prices. If the price of your subscription goes up, we'll tell you before your next renewal, so you can cancel before it applies.
We can change Goose and these terms
Goose keeps changing. We can add, change or remove features, change how things work and change what each plan includes at any time, without asking first. Sometimes that means something you liked goes away. If a change makes Goose Pro significantly worse during a period you've already paid for on the web, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part.
We can also update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Goose after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, download your data and delete your account.
Connected services and app stores
Goose works with services we don't control, such as Garmin, Strava, Oura, WHOOP, Polar, Fitbit & Google Health, Suunto, Apple Health and Health Connect. You use them under their own terms. They can change or stop their connection at any time, and if they do, the matching Goose feature may stop working. We're not responsible for them.
If you got Goose from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard end user license agreement also applies to the app, and where it conflicts with these terms about the app's license, Apple's agreement wins. These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn't responsible for Goose or for supporting it. If you got Goose from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to the download.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them however we like, without paying or crediting you.
Ending your account
You can stop using Goose and delete your account at any time.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the law, if you put Goose or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to download your data.
If we ever shut Goose down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your data, and refund the unused part of any web subscription.
The parts of these terms that by their nature should last after your account ends, such as ownership, the disclaimers and the limits on liability, keep applying.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Goose running and accurate, but it's provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that Goose will always be available, free of errors or secure, that its numbers are accurate, or that it will suit your needs. Keep your own copy of anything important; the data download in your profile makes that easy.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Goose or from not being able to use it. Our total liability to you for all claims about Goose is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Goose in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
If you break these terms
If you break these terms or the law while using Goose and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you're responsible for the cost of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
The legal bits
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Goose.
- If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- You can't transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We can transfer ours if Goose changes hands, and these terms will keep applying to you.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes about Goose go to the state or federal courts in Nevada.
- If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live, and can bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it.
